The first 72 hours after a dental implant

What is normal, what is not, and the four small habits that decide how well an implant integrates.

Mild swelling and a metallic taste in the first two days are expected. Throbbing that worsens after day three is not — call us.

Cold compress in twenty-minute cycles for the first day, soft food for a week, no smoking, and gentle rinsing rather than vigorous swishing.

Implants fail from infection and load, not from bad luck. Keeping the site clean during healing is the single highest-value thing you can do.
