Preparing your child for their first dental visit
The words you use at home matter more than anything we do in the chair.
Avoid the words 'hurt', 'needle' and 'brave'. Say we are going to count teeth and take a photograph.
Book a morning slot, bring a familiar toy, and let your child sit in the chair with nothing happening on the first visit.
Our paediatric wing runs on tell-show-do: every instrument is introduced before it is used.
